About FMSC

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian non-profit committed to feeding God’s children, hungry in body and spirit. Their approach is simple: Volunteers hand-pack meals specially formulated for malnourished children, and they send them to partners building more-successful communities around the world. Their food reaches nearly 50 countries a year–more than 70 in their history.

THE PRICE OF A MEAL | Every day, FMSC produces enough food for 420,000 children. Each of these meals costs less than a quarter to make and more than 90% of total donations supports the food program.

NUTRITIOUS FOOD FOR ANY CULTURE | Founded in 1987, they are the original and largest supplier of nutritionally complete, packaged dry meals for the world’s hungry.

Food scientists developed the all-vegetarian MannaPack Rice meals to quickly reverse and prevent malnutrition. A power-packed formula of 20 vitamins and minerals–added to dried vegetables, soy protein, and rice–provided complete nutrition for a child to grow and thrive.

THE HUNGER PROBLEM | 6.9 million kids under age 5 die each year in developing countries. Malnutrition and hunger-related diseases cause one-third of these deaths. That’s 6,200 children who die each day from hunger. That number has dropped from 18,000 in 1990 thanks to the efforts of organizations like FMSC–but it is still too large.

Feed My Starving Children has a hunger solution that gets food where it’s needed most and helps people build stronger communities. By supporting the Iowa City MobilePack Event, you are supporting a model that works and an organization that is rated a four-star charity by Charity Navigator 14 consecutive years. This is an exceptional designation only 1% of charities achieve and differentiates FMSC from its peers, demonstrating to it is worthy of our trust!
